Øya starts on tomorrow! Well sort of tonight, if you are going to venues like Revolver, Blå, Krøsset, Kulturhuset, Parkteatret and more (check out øya.no for the full program). At these places there will be a bunch of bands playing tonight. I will try my best to see Hvitmalt Gjerde at Krøsset. But me trying to do my best, means I most likely won’t make it due to work. But enough about me, tomorrow the gates to Tøyenparken opens up for the Øya Festival. Lots of people, lots of food, lots of rain. Yes, it will be raining, but who cares when the music is good?
Speaking of good music, here are ten acts you can’t miss at Øya this week!
Opening the whole festival tomorrow. Plus the band consists of members from Kvelertak. That alone is a good reason to check them out.
My favourite band from Bergen, with Norways most talented guitarist.
Lana Del Rey
She sings about fucking her way up to the top, but who cares about that when she is extremely talented and awesome live?
Sigrid is one of those artists with great acclaims from the media. Her music is not my taste at all, but I am surely gonna check this young talent out.
John Olav Nilsen & Nordsjøen
Formerly known as John Olav Nilsen & Gjengen. Sometimes you just need a good dose of Bergen.
Headlining Øya. Good on Spotify, are they good live? Lets check them out!
Just because my mom thinks hes pretty. Or maybe because he is a true fashionista: I mean the new hair.. Everyone in music has that hair. Sam Palladio, Conor Mason (Nothing But Thieves), and now Daniel Kvammen. Grey is okey.
Might be the only chance I have to see them live. Right?
I had the chance to see Pixies 13 years ago, but I had a bad taste in music so I went to see someone else. This is my redemption.
Yay for Swedish rock n’ roll! The only reason I am going to Øya is because of The Hellacopters.
Ten acts you can’t miss, or ten acts I can’t miss? Hmm..
Come over and say hi if you see me at Øya. See you there! 😉
