10 acts you must see at by:larm 2016
The greatest thing about living in Oslo is that I finally get to experience by:larm. It’s been a long time coming. At by:larm there are a lot of new artists and bands that are yet to be discovered. And the festivities starts next week. By:larm is more than just music, it also gives us an insight to the music industry and the music business through all kinds of different conferences.

Like most other music bloggers and music sites that are going to the festival, I have also listed up a couple of bands and artists that I recommend you see. Also I hope that I get to see them as well. Instead of googling and Tidaling the different artists, I used the by:larm app. I know, it sounds like a commercial, but trust me it’s not. The app is connected to Spotify and have all the artists lined up – all I needed to do was to press play. These are the ones that caught my attention with only a few seconds of sound (in no particular order):

1 – VANT

This band is something that I’m looking forward to see. Only because they do look really cute. No seriously. Great music, I can’t wait to see them live.

2 – Bob Hund

Can’t miss the Swedish guys in Bob Hund. Legendary! Amazing that they are playing by:larm this year. Definitely a crowd-pleaser.

4 – Årabrot

Årabrot is a well-established band in my opinion. They won a Norwegian Grammy a few years back and they have worked with a bunch of great musicians. However, I’ve never seen them live. And now it’s about time. They are also from Haugesund – I was born there, I feel some connection.

5 – Faenskap

I saw a little bit of Oslo Faenskap when they played Granitt Rock last year. They were good. They’ve changed their name to Faenskap, whats wrong with Oslo?

6 – Tempel

YES! Give me more metal! If you like hard rock/metal this is the concert for you. Do not miss Tempel.

7 – Pil & Bue

Any band that names Placebo as an inspiration must be a good band in my opinion. Pil & Bue have also been the supporting act to El Caco’s tour these last weeks. Basically why i want to check them out.

8 – Heather

I heard a little bit of Heather on the by:larm-app. Now I want to hear more. Sounds promising.

9 – Virgin Suicide

Virgin Suicide is a band from Denmark. My first question is – are they inspired by the movie? Or the Beatles? Who cares, I love it. The music is really fun. Hopefully it will be just as great on stage.

10 – Skinny Days

Skinny Days is a Norwegian duo – thats all I know really. I need to balance the rock and metal with something like this. It’s catchy. Lets see how they are live.

Besides these then bands I would also like to see the Urørt Finale. I’m only one person so lets see how much I can manage. Would like to experience it all, but thats impossible.
