This is a new dramaseries about the music business in New York during the 1970s. The first episode is two hours long and is produced by Martin Scorsese. Joining his team of brilliance is Mick Jagger and Terence Winter.
Vinyl gives us an insight of how the music business in the 70s was permeated by sex and drugs. This was on the threshold of a new era in music – during the development of punk, disco and hip-hop. The series follows the owner of a record company, Richie Finestra, played by Bobby Cannavle.
Other actors and actresses in this show: Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Ato Essandoh, Max Casella, P.J. Byrne, J.C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid, James Jagger and Paul Ben-Victor.
Martin Scorsese – an iconic producer who won his first Oscar for “The Departed”. He has also been involved in music documentaries such as “Shine a Light” and “George Harrison: Living in a Material World”
Mick Jagger – Does he even need an introduction? Not really. But Jagger was actually nominated for an Emmy i 2013 for “Crossfire Hurricane”.
Terence Winter: Whats impressive about this guy is that he has produced and written some episodes of The Sopranos – a great tv-series. Vinyl is actually created by Winter, who is also the show-runner.
With such a great team behind Vinyl this better be good. And now we have to wait until February to see the first episode. At least it’s something to look forward to in 2016.
